Covid-19 in Yangon

Some of NLD's (National League for Democracy) top leaders detained in Yangon's Insein Prison, including U Nyan Win, U Han Thar Myint, and Yangon Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein are being treated at hospitals after being infected with COVID-19.

Suspected death toll from COVID-19 has risen sharply in Yangon and some have passed away without anyone noticing their deaths, according to social organisations working in densely populated townships.

No letting up in the number of bodies being sent to cemeteries/crematoriums in Yangon, Myanmar's largest city. Many are believed to have died from Covid19 mainly due to lack of oxygen supplies. Upsetting as bodies left unattended/improperly handled.
