arking 8888 Uprising, in Tanintharyi, Myanmar on August 8. 33 years back in 1988 students came into resistance to the dictator, the uprising costed the lives of thousands of people and resulted in a new military dictatorship.

On the morning of August 8, the Dawei Main strike and the Student Youth Movement joined forces to protest against military dictatorship, marking the 33rd anniversary of the 8888 Uprising.

Protests Launglon

The Dawei District Strike Committee and the revolutionary youths in Longlone Township joined together to protest against the military dictatorship with the slogan, "Let's ask for the old blood debt of 88 in 21"

In Launglon Township, Tanintharyi, locals marched today (August 8), calling for the overthrow of Myanmar's military dictatorship and in memory of the 8.8.88 uprising.


Students from Longlone Thanintharyi marched to the streets on the morning of 8 August and chanted slogans "The old blood debt at 88, take it back at 21."

On the morning of August 8, protest against the military dictatorship took place in Wadi Village, Launglon Township, on the 33rd anniversary of the 8888 uprising.

On the afternoon of August 8, a protest was held in Pandale Village, Launglon Township, on the 33rd anniversary of the 'Eight-Four Uprising'.

On the 33rd anniversary of the 8888 Uprising, anti-military dictatorship night strike erupted in rural areas of Launglon Township on August 8.

Protests in ThayetChaung & Yebyu

People from ThayetChaung township marched in this morning, wore the same red shirts and participated in the campaign that says, "We will pay the blood debt for 88 in 2021".

A group of youths from ThayetChaung Township held a protest against the Military Dictatorship and raised 8 fingers salute to mark the 33rd anniversary of 8.8.88 Uprising.

Local people from Thayet Chaung, Dawei protesting at home and holding banners to overthrow of the Fascist regime on 8888 Uprising Anniversary Day.


On August 8, locals in Kanpauk, Dawei, staged a protest to mark the 33rd anniversary of the 8888 Burmese pro-democracy uprising, wearing red T-shirts in remembrance of the martyrs who gave their lives.

Locals from YeByue Township, Dawei once again held a protest for the fall of the military dictatorship and the Blood Debt of 8888 Uprising on Aug8 afternoon, marking a s the 33rd anniversary of 8888 Uprising.

A protest was held in Kanbauk, Yebyu Township, Dawei District, on the evening of August 8 to mark the anniversary of the 8888Uprising.
